Periodic webinars that expand on library content in a conversational format. All sessions are educational only and do not constitute financial advice.
The GBPress webinar series is built around the questions that learners actually ask after completing library content. Topics are chosen based on the areas where written guides and videos leave the most room for clarification, or where recent changes to UK financial regulations have made content particularly timely.
Webinars typically run for forty-five minutes to an hour, divided between a structured presentation section and a question period. Questions submitted in advance are prioritised to ensure the most commonly asked topics are addressed within the session itself. All sessions are presented in a factual, educational tone. No investment products, financial services, or third-party providers are promoted during any GBPress webinar.
Sessions are recorded and added to the webinar archive within a few days of the live broadcast. If you miss a live session, the recording covers the same content including the question and answer section.
The following sessions are scheduled for the coming weeks. Registration links are sent to subscribers of the GBPress mailing list. All sessions are free to attend.
A walkthrough of a standard UK PAYE payslip covering every line item, common variations, and how to cross-check figures against HMRC's own tools. Suitable for anyone who has recently started employment or who has never had the payslip properly explained to them.
A practical session covering the core steps involved in building a clear picture of household income and expenditure. Includes a live walkthrough of a budget spreadsheet template, discussion of fixed versus variable costs, and an explanation of how to use the completed budget as a reference point for financial decisions.
UK energy billing is unusually complex, combining unit rates, standing charges, estimated readings, and a price cap mechanism that changes quarterly. This session works through a real energy bill section by section, explains what the Ofgem price cap means for your actual payment, and covers how to identify whether your direct debit is set at an appropriate level for your usage.
All past webinars are available to view in the archive below. Each recording includes the full presentation and the question and answer section from the live session.
